Born and raised in Kent, Rachel is an optimistic go-getter with an interest in writing, editing and all things creative. As the Assistant Editor at Lux Lucet, a zine that celebrates individual creativity and advocates for diversity, we know from her work that Rachel is in the right place with us here at Ace Voices.
Rachel’s voice is soft, enunciated and melodic with a wonderfully subtle hint of confidence and dramatic flair. Listening to her readings of Macbeth and Wuthering Heights makes us believe the stories are real as she tells them in such a way that whisks us far away and deep into the fantasy while our bodies relax in a meadow full of daisies in the sunshine.

Not only does our Ace Talent write for an eclectic magazine, Rachel recently featured on a podcast with “All Things Mental Health” and finds herself on panels talking about being a graduate freelance writer, bisexual and important topics on diverse culture influences. And as Rachel has OCD, her support and advocacy around neurodiversity is personal and inspirational.
At York university, Rachel displayed commendable intelligence as an agile learner while specialising in medieval literature; she taught herself Old English and still knows how to pronounce all the inflections so if we ever need a reading of Caedmon’s Hymn in the original, we know Rachel’s our girl!
