Accruing 12 million views and over 67K YouTube subscribers to his sketch comedy “Victorious Sponge”, Andrew’s passion for hilarity and theatrics began at a very young age, essentially from casting himself in his own homemade movies! By 2012, Victorious Sponge were selected for the “Next Up” Award which singled out talented YouTube creators with great potential by awarding them a week’s training at the prestigious Google Offices.
With boosted confidence, Andrew entered a competition calling for short film ideas sponsored by Samsung, shot by Freshone Productions with the help of a professional crew and…get this…celebrity mentor Idris Elba! Yes, you heard us right! Andrew’s short film, “Howard’s Happy Place”, was brought to life with Andrew’s debut as Director and Idris as Producer.
In Idris Elba’s own words:
“When I first started this project I said I wanted to find someone who wanted to tell a story and inspire others. In Andrew, I feel I have found someone who has a similar aspiration and that is why I picked him.”
Since then, he has forged his career as an actor, comedian and presenter through collaborations with Apple, Youtube, All3Media, Sky One, Comedy Central, BBC, department for Education and Fresh One Productions.
Multi-dextrous Andrew also plays the drums, piano and bass guitar and he looks forward to the next creative challenge voicing commercials, TV, Film and Gaming for Ace! Keep us smiling, Andrew!
